  • BVI schools benefit from generosity of local investment club...

    TORTOLA - The BVI Investment Club Foundation and the BVI Investment Club are playing their part in the development of local youth.

    Several primary schools throughout the territory received monetary contributions made by the foundation totaling $9,000. Receiving $500 each were Althea Scatliffe Primary School, Bregado Flax Educational Centre Primary Division, Bregado Flax Educational Center Secondary, Anegada School and the Alexandrina Maduro, Joyce Samuel, Ebenezer Thomas, Enid Scatliffe and Enis Adams primary schools.

    Also receiving $500 donations were Isabella Morris, Ivan Dawson, Jost Van Dyke, Leonora Delville, Robinson O`Neal Memorial and Willard Wheatley primary schools - all government schools.

    The Francis Lettsome Primary School received $200, and the Technical and Vocational Institute received $300.

    Two private schools also benefited - St. George`s and the Seventh-day Adventist schools. They each received $500.

    In addition, the BVI Investment Club donated four laptop computers to the top performing students in business and technical study and eight book scholarships of $500 each. Scholarships will be distributed to students in all departments at the BVI High School for a total of $10,000.
